Preparing Egg Tart
If you are a pastry lover, you surely cherished a lot of pastries here in Singapore. Pastries refer to various baked food products out of milk, sugar, flour, butter, baking powder, eggs and shortening. If in this case you want to make egg tarts, you will surely learn how to prepare it no time. Egg tarts are famous in Hong Kong but its delight transcends to its borders.
Egg tarts are also famous in Singapore and other Asian countries. Egg tarts are very tasty and the best part is you can put your leftovers in the refrigerator. If you are serious about learning how to prepare it, you can start by securing the ingredients. This recipe makes at least twelve tarts. Ingredients include 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar, 1 cup of evaporated milk, 1 dash of vanilla extract, 9 beaten eggs, 1 butter cup, 3 cups all-purpose flour, 2/3 cup of white sugar and 1 ½ cups of water. Do not forget about your utensils.
After preparing the ingredients, the next part is the fun part – baking. This is better if it is done with the family. If your family loves egg tart, they will enjoy preparing it. So, here’s how to bake it:
- Mix ingredients together: Look for a bowl then mix the sugar together with the flour. You should then mix butter using a fork. Blend the egg and vanilla until it forms a dough. Remember that the texture of the dough should be somewhat moist. If it is too dry, add more butter but if it too greasy, add more flour. Put the dough in your tart moulder.
- Preheat the oven: You should then preheat the oven to 230°C.
- Preparing filling: In another saucepan, mix white sugar and water then boil it. Put it aside while you strain the eggs unto the saucepan. Whisk it afterwards. Add vanilla and evaporated milk and fill the moulder with the filling.
- Bake: You can now bake your egg tarts for fifteen to twenty minutes in the oven. Just put the tray inside the oven and wait for the timer.
- Serve: If you see that your tart is golden brown and the filling is puffed up, you can get it from the oven and serve it while it is hot. There are people who prefer to serve it hot while there are others that prefer it chilled. As mentioned earlier, you can put your leftovers in the refrigerator and consume it not more than three days.
